Our Surgeons

H. Relton McCarroll, Jr., MD

Dr. McCarroll is a third-generation surgeon; he carries on the tradition of being a true “giant” in the field of orthopedic surgery. Dr. McCarroll received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY, and completed his orthopaedic surgery training at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN.

Tom R. Norris, MD

Dr. Norris has been with the San Francisco Shoulder, Elbow, and Hand Clinic since 1978. He has been an influential member of the San Francisco Bay Area medical community, as well as the national and international shoulder and elbow reconstructive communities, since the 1970s.

James D. Kelly II, MD

Dr. Kelly attended the University of Rochester, graduating with high distinction with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He then received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University. He completed a General Surgery Internship at the Oakland Naval Hospital, after which he worked as a Flight Surgeon in Pensacola, Florida.

Mark A. Schrumpf, MD

Dr. Schrumpf is a Bay Area native. He attended medical school at the University of Southern California and completed his orthopedic training at the world renowned Hospital for Special Surgery, where he focused his clinical and research efforts on reconstructive surgery of the upper extremity.
